SBM International Fair 2015 S2

SBM International Fair- Team 4
Date: 25 November 2015, Wednesday
Together with SBM International Department, EMRS Team 4 put together a Fair to attract students to find out more about OSEP and bringing different country culture together at the Fair.
Our Objective was to attract as many students as possible to the fair, so that they would be able to sign up for the OSEP program.

Pre Event
Our Event Comprises of 3 Main features, the OSEP Student booth, the Presentations, the Mini Activities our team have designed to attract the crowd.

Our Theme for this event is Amazing Race.
We had a meet up with the OSEP students before the Event. We Brief them about what are the activities that are going to happen and what they needed to prepare for their booth and presentation.
We did several Site Recce to plan our floor layout and also getting it approved.
After Researching about the different countries and discussing with the students, we started preparing the different country booths.
As we have a wide corridor, we came up with mini activities like 3 mini games, help out with the immersion trip booth printing and a Photo Booth to fill up the Fair with Activities.

Pre Event Publicity
We had to go to different lecture theaters before the Year 1 and 2 Students Classes to make announcements about the fair and encourage the students to participate.
We had our Poster printed and put up along the corridors of SBM and also requested it to be put up in the school’s computer system.

We put up some balloons along the corridor to lead the crowd to our event venue.
Event Day: Setting Up
Before the Event Day, we had Our Fixtures moved down to the fair.
So that we had more time to decorate the venue on the event day morning.

Event Commencement
Event Started from 11am till 5pm
Even thou we spent weeks planning the event and getting our activities we had some hiccups along the event.
As our venue is located at a rather quaint location, there aren’t a lot of students walking pass the area.
We had several OSEP students and our EMRS students going down the corridor and inviting people to our event.

As the event continues, our OSEP student talks are getting more audience. There were some students waiting outside the presentation room for their favorite country to present.

Event Tear down
We carefully took down the decorations from the wall (We didn’t dirty the walls YAYY).

After, we returned the Chairs that were brought down from the Tutorial Room we booked.
We then separated the materials that were reusable and returned it to Ms Ros.
In Overall the event was Successful, we got everything in place and the OSEP students were really enthusiastic (They Wore their traditional clothing throughout the event.)

However, as there were too much activities happening throughout campus and also the new location was rather out of many student’s ways. We did not manage to attract as many students as planned.
Hopefully the next time we will do better!
Best Regards
